A Swedish christmas tradition explained in English.

Date: 2013-12-01 Time: 19:05:25 Swedish Traditions in English

It's Sunday and December 1st. It's only four more Sundays until christmas including today. And we celebrate this in Sweden. The four last Sundays before christmas are called 1st advent, 2nd advent, 3rd advent and 4th advent. As you see it's advent and there's no translation for it. So every sunday we lit a candle. We have some kind of a candlestick for four candles so 1st advent we lit the first candle, the 2nd advent we lit the first and the second. And so on. My family also have a candle that has 24 numbers on it. Everyday we burn one number away. I don't know if you know this but we celebrate chirstmas on the 24th. We also have a tv-show with 24 episodes, 15 minutes each day. It's a different one every year. :)
We are still burning down that one candle to number one and the first candle is burning. I'm excited for christmas. :)
